The recent launch of Texas Tribune’s Data Library is a great example of how media and government clients are utilizing Caspio Bridge to publish databases and share engaging web applications that increase website traffic and community interaction.
Texas Tribune is a non-profit news organization located in Austin, Texas, devoted to state government and public policy. They aim to promote civic engagement through original, explanatory journalism and public events.
The data library contains over a dozen database applications, all intended to give readers more information about the state’s government and its elected officials. Database applications built using Caspio include Lowest Performing Schools, Partisan Rankings by District, Texas Campaign Expenditures, and Government Employee Salaries containing records of over 250,000 public employees.

Texas Tribune also plans to utilize Caspio’s advanced deployment capabilities to give visitors the option of easily downloading data or embedding the apps on their own websites.

The Georgia Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC) was tasked to build and deploy an online application that would allow state agencies to apply for grant funds. Based on time and budget constraints, Daniel Kurlowich, Systems Analyst at the CJCC, knew that building the application from scratch wasn’t an option, so he searched for a cloud solution that could securely capture and manage the grant application’s 200 data input fields.
After a short online demo, Kurlowich felt confident that Caspio’s platform would fit the bill. In fact, it took him only one day to design, integrate and launch the application system on CJCC’s website. The project was completed early and under-budget, with the first online registration coming in within 30 minutes of launch. Caspio’s step-by-step wizards also made it easy for the agency make real-time edits to the application once it was live. Read the full case study.
Caspio‘s cloud platform was the only workable solution that provided the level of speed, ease and security that Kurlowich was looking for. He summarizes, “I’ve worked in data all my life and I knew that Caspio could do the job. And it did.”
