We have just made available a ready-to-publish database of crime statistics compiled by the Federal Bureau of Investigation for the whole of 2011. Every year, local law enforcement agencies submit to the FBI tallies of all known crimes investigated in the previous year, classifying them into categories such as murder, assault, vehicle theft, etc.

Users of the database can quickly search by state and city, and see the various crime rates for that area. The database is ready to publish immediately to any web property. This data set would make a great interactive addition to any media reports on crime statistics, or simply posted as-is on any web site.
