Caspio has partnered with the Investigative Reporters and Editors (IRE) again this year to host a hands-on training session at the annual IRE conference, held in Philadelphia on June 4.
The session will be focused on how journalists can use interactive online database applications to inform and engage readers, generate more page views, and increase ad revenues.
Session highlights:
This training session was originally presented at the 2015 NICAR conference and we were thrilled to see quite a few database application projects rolled out by the attendees.
For example, Nelson Hsu, Senior Visuals Editor at NBC Universal, recently published a restaurant inspection app for the NBC4 TV station serving the Los Angeles area. The entire process required no programming; from importing the inspection data retrieved from the LA County Department of Public Health, to building and deploying the app. There was a significant traffic spike on the day the application went live and it continues to drive traffic on the website.
If you are heading to the IRE conference this year, be sure to attend Caspio’s live training session on June 4 at 11:20 A.M.
If you can’t make it to the conference but would like to explore Caspio for your upcoming database projects, we encourage you to sign up for our web-based training designed specifically for media professionals.
We look forward to seeing everyone in Philadelphia!
